Wade in the Water Writer, Director, Producer, Linette Etheredge is an independent documentary film maker from Melbourne, Australia. As a member of South of the River, Linette knew first hand the thrill and excitement of winning a place in the National Sing Out competition. In early June 2006 the seeds for making Wade in the Water were sown when South of the River's place in the finals was announced. As is often the case with documentaries the final film became much more than a story about a choir and a competition. The members of South of the River who shared their lives with the camera helped shape Wade in the Water into a film about the strength of individuals and the power of collective community activity. Debi’s willingness to share her experience of Breast Cancer was unexpected but quickly became the most significant, compelling and engaging story waiting to be told.
